MEET OUR CARDIOLOGISTS
Dr. Han Lim
MBBS, PhD, FRACP, Cardiac ElectrophysiologistHan obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Melbourne and completed his Cardiology training at the Austin Hospital, before undertaking subspecialty training in the area of cardiac electrophysiology and device implantations. He is a recipient of the NHMRC (National Health and Medical Research Council) Medical Postgraduate Scholarship for his PhD in the area of stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF). He is the first Australian cardiologist to be awarded the Parmley Prize from the American College of Cardiology, for one of the most outstanding manuscripts by a Young Investigator in 2012. Han is also a recipient of the NHMRC Early Career Fellowship. –Find out more
Dr. Chris Lim
MBBS, FRACP, Interventional CardiologistChris Lim is a cardiologist who has trained in all aspects of cardiology and is a specialist in Interventional Cardiology, PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention), angioplasty and stenting. He completed his training in Melbourne and then completed a further three-year post-graduate training fellowship in Oxford, United Kingdom. He is a pioneer of Radial Artery access procedures - using the wrist artery instead of the femoral artery in the groin - which offers superior patient comfort and procedure safety. He has also introduced the use of the latest imaging and functional techniques: including intracoronary imaging with OCT and IVUS and the Pressure Wire (FFR) technique to assess individual coronary stenoses for ischaemia. He is active in research and has authored multiple publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He is also active in teaching and educating junior cardiologists, as part of his tertiary teaching hospital appointments, and is the Supervisor of the Cardiology Resident training programme at Epworth Eastern Hospital. –Find out more
Dr. Catherine Liew
Non- Invasive Imaging, Heart Failure and General Cardiologist (MBBS, BMedSc, FRACP)Dr Catherine Liew graduated MBBS and BMedSc from The University of Melbourne, and received her FRACP following completion of her training in clinical Cardiology at the Geelong and Austin Hospitals. Dr. Liew undertook cardiac subspecialty training in cardiac imagingfollowing a non-invasive cardiac fellowship at Western Health where she trained in echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography and cardiac computed tomography. Dr Catherine Liew provides specialist services in general cardiology, heart failure management, valvular heart disease, echocardiography and stress echocardiography. –Find out more
Dr. Rinku Rayoo
MBBS, MD, FRACP, Non-invasive Imaging and General CardiologistDr Rinku Rayoo completed his cardiology training at Austin Hospital and Northern Hospital in Melbourne. He has completed a Cardiac Imaging Fellowship specializing in transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. Dr Rayoo has a Level 2 SCMR accreditation for cardiac MRI and a Level A ANZCTCA accreditation for Cardiac CT. Dr Rayoo manages a wide variety of adult cardiovascular disease including hypertension, dyslipidaemia, ischaemic heart disease, cardiovascular risk assessment, valvular heart disease, heart failure and all areas of cardiac imaging especially echocardiography. –Find out more
